The Cut is an internationally co-produced film by director Fatih Akın and was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 71st Venice Film Festival. The film tells the fate of Nazaret Manoogian, who was abducted into forced labour by Ottoman soldiers one night, manages to flee and then goes in search of his daughters. Benita Bailey, Saro Emirze and Alina Manoukian read from the screenplay, which Akın wrote together with Mardik Martin, telling a story full of pain, loss, but also hope.
