Alina Manoukian, born in Tehran and raised in Hamburg, studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her first guest engagement took her to the Maxim Gorki Theater before she became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen for several years.
There, in search of her Armenian roots, she staged her first own musical theater piece: Fremdeln die Sterne in der Ferne? With this play, she performed at the Norddeutsches Theatertreffen, the Eigenarten Festival Hamburg and the Eigenreich Theater Berlin, among others.
In the years that followed, she worked as a freelance actress in Berlin and continued to devote herself to music. She collects Armenian folk songs and translates them into German. In 2012, she released her debut album Na Mi Naz Ouni and presented it in a scenic release concert at Ballhaus Naunynstraße, followed by performances at renowned theaters such as the Thalia Theater, the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Hans-Otto-Theater and the Körber-Forum Hamburg.
In addition to her music, she works as an actress for film, television and audio book productions. She plays a small supporting role in Burhan Qurbani's Berlinale film Shahada. In 2024, she recorded the novel Auf der Straße heißen wir anders by Laura Cwiertnia as an audiobook for Apple. In the same year, she brings the story to the stage and performs a staged reading together with Bettina Stucky and Michael Weber in the Malersaal at Schauspielhaus Hamburg.
