PLANET B

40 million years in the future, one species from the diverse range of humanoids now populating the galaxies reenacts a myth shrouded in legend: how their ancestors, the primitive homo sapiens species, disappeared from the tiny, rocky Planet Earth and made it to Planet B.

Their story begins on Earth in the 21st century, where climate change has continued unimpeded, and many species are already extinct. Then, all of a sudden, aliens show up and inform humanity that »Project Earth«, in its current form, unfortunately cannot be renewed for another season. Humans have been dominating the storyline for too long now, in addition to exploiting the Earth. On top of that, their ratings are simply not high enough anymore. So the aliens decide to take up the strangely premature mass extinction begun by humans and continue it systematically. But instead of another volcano or asteroid, this time a reality show format is supposed to decide which species die out and which will be part of the surviving 5%.

The aliens select one human at random to give his species one last chance by representing it in the alien reality show »Surviving Planet Earth«.
So the human competes with a panda, chicken, ant, fox, crocodile and bat in a race of species for the privilege of repopulating the earth. Who has taken the most convincing evolutionary steps? Who has the greatest potential to entertain?
opulating the earth. Who has taken the most convincing evolutionary steps? Who has the greatest potential to entertain?

Having most recently collaborated on the 2022 Theatertreffen show SLIPPERY SLOPE: ALMOST A MUSICAL, Yael Ronen and Itai Reicher now form an author duo and devote themselves to the current sixth mass extinction with a wicked science fiction comedy.
