Wolfgang Menardi

Wolfgang Menardi began his career as an actor before he started working as a set designer. He has been active as a set and costume designer around Germany and abroad since 2011. The theatres he has worked at include the Burgtheater Wien, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Berliner Ensemble, Maxim Gorki Theatre Berlin, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Residenztheater München, Münchner Kammerspiele, Theater Basel, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Schauspiel Köln, Volkstheater Wien, Staatstheater and Staatsoper Hannover, Königliches Theater Kopenhagen, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Dramaten in Stockholm and many more. He has been nominated for best set design by the Theater heute journal multiple times, as well as for the Faustpreis. Over the past 20 years he has also been active as a director, working at venues such as the Staatstheater Mainz, Volkstheater Wien and Theater Oberhausen. He collaborates regularly with the following directors: Thom Luz, Falk Richter, Yael Ronen, Thorleifur Ören Arnarsson, Miloš Lolic, Bernadette Sonnenbichler, Alexander Nerlich and Lucia Bihler.
