Mareike Beykirch was born in Quedlinburg in 1986. She began her career as an assistant director at the Osnabrück Theatre and trained as an actress at the University of Music and Theatre Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig from 2008-2012. During her studies, from 2010-2012, she was a member of the Centraltheater Leipzig’s studio. She then became a member of the ensemble at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and was an ensemble member at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin from 2013-2019. In 2013 and 2018 she was nominated for young actress of the year in »theatre heute« magazine’s critics poll. At the Berliner Theatertreffen festival in 2019 she was a International Forum fellow. The directors she has worked with include Falk Richter, Nora Abdel-Maksoud, Schorsch Kamerun, Yael Ronen, Christian Weise, András Dömötör and Nurkan Erpulat.
