Die gelbe Stadt

In Deir ez-Zor, also known as the »Yellow City«, sand is king for at least 200 days a year. This is also where the death march of many Armenians ended in 1915. Some of the survivors stayed. A community in the Armernian diaspora emerged in the »Yellow City«.
