Ayham Majid Agha was born in 1980 in Syria, and is a graduate of the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Damascus, where he served as an associate professor from 2006 – 2012. He also studied in Italy and the UK. From 2005 – 2012 he was a member of »Theatre Studio«, which conducted interactive theatre projects in Syrian villages. Ayham Majid Agha has had numerous engagements at theatres in Damascus, Manchester, Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Seoul and Hanover. In 2016 he was invited to the Theatertreffen festival as a performer in The Situation. The piece negotiates the political situation in the Middle East, which was invited to the Theatertreffen 2016. The Piece was elected as piece of the year (Stück des Jahres) 2016.The Exile Ensemble, to which Ayham Majid Agha belongs to, developed in cooperation with Yael Ronen the play Winterreise رحلة الشتاء.
In the season 2017/18 his play Skelett eines Elefanten in der Wüste premiered in the Studio Я at the Gorki which was invited to the 'Radikal Jung 2018 – The Festival for Young Directors' where Ayham Majid Agha won the Young Critics Award. Ayham plays as an actor in Hamletmaschine, an Exil Ensemble project directed by Sebastian Nübling for whiche texts of Ayham were used.
