Sasha Marianna Salzmann’s new text is an evocative work for the theatre. A grandfather is on his deathbed, and with him a whole century. This Jewish, born-in-the-USSR grandfather, who suffers from dementia, is attacked by memories like an animal; they hurl him through the ages. His mind can no longer make sense of the present. The Gorki is presenting Salzmann’s latest text in a staged reading directed by Sapir Heller.
