Ruth Reinecke

Ruth Reinecke was born in Berlin in 1955 and graduated from the institution known today as the Ernst Busch Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Her first engagement led her to Schwerin; she has been a permanent company member of the Maxim Gorki Theater since 1979 up to the season 2019/2020. She has worked with many directors, including Thomas Langhoff, Christoph Schroth, Sebastian Baumgarten, Jan Bosse and Stefan Bachmann. From the season 2020/2021 she can be seen as a guest on the Gorki stage.
For her performances in Iphigenie auf Tauris (1976), Ma ..Ma ..Marlene (1990) and Was ihr wollt (1991) she was awarded the Critics’ Prize by the daily newspaper Berliner Zeitung. Ruth Reinecke appears regularly in TV and film productions, for example Weißensee, broadcast by the ARD.
