Arno Widmann was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1946, where he studied – without a degree – philosophy and sociology with Theodor W. Adorno from 1966 onwards. After that, he was editor-in-chief there, deputy editor-in-chief of German Vogue, and head of the arts section of Die Zeit and political editor of the Berliner Zeitung, among other positions.
Today he still writes for the Frankfurter Rundschau. But above all, he is the »house philosopher« of the Maxim Gorki Theater, once again an apprentice who learns something new every day.
