Tara Al-Dughaither’s work deals with narrative, trauma, the body and particularly the female singing voice in public spaces in the context of Saudi Arabia. Central to her practice is transdisciplinary archival work. Who the F*** Cares to Listen? introduces Al-Dughaither’s archival project sawtasura [sound of the image] for which the curator has been gathering audio material of women’s songs, usually sung in private spaces. The lecture performance is also a reflection on Al-Dughaither’s own embodied and situated archival practice.
