On October 3rd, 2020, the unification of two Germanies reaches its 30th anniversary. At all the commemorations, speeches and ceremonies, it’ll be mainly the »reunification« that’s spoken of. The narrative of the reunified potato field contrasts with the changed reality of radical societal diversity. Its present is not that of a unified German people, instead it has already been, for a long time, more post-migrant, queerer or more Jewish, than the ethnocentric narrative of reunification asserts. This changed reality also requires a different concept of society: the JüdischMuslimische Leitkultur (Jewish-Muslim dominant culture) is a starting point. Instead of German Leitkultur and integration, its motto is radical diversity and Gegenwartsbewältigung (coming to terms with the present). The beginning is near!
The intervention in the German dominant culture takes place from 3 October to 9 November, mainly in theatres, with twenty cooperation partners and in about forty individual events in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
