Robert Prosser’s novel Phantome (Phantoms) spans an arc from 1992 to 2015. It describes a journey from Vienna to Srebrenica, the reader approaches Bosnia, metro tunnels in Vienna, the adrenaline rush of illegal graffiti. Deniz Utlu speaks with the author about the political in novel form and about the war in Yugoslavia, that triggered the las last large wave of refugees in the 90’ths and whose drastic crimes continue to have a lasting effect far into the generation of the victims' children. Phantome was nominated for the German Book Prize 2017.
