In his new novel Der Tag, an dem ein Mann vom Berg Amar kam (»The day a man came from Mount Amar«), Kurdish and Turkish-speaking novelist Yavuz Ekinci tells about the beauty of archaic, untouched nature paired with its horror; about people living in a village community, following rules and rituals, and about the permanent menace of imminent destruction in present day. Curator Deniz Utlu talks with the author about the (not only geographical) boundaries of a novel in times of global interweaving and world-wide conflicts.
