It took me 36 years to understand that I am not alone. That we were and are many. Because my people are the invisible people in this society: A wealth of stories are hidden beyond the »doubled invisibility« of East Germans of Colour. There were and are still migrants and migrantised people, so German PoCs. It’s just that they and their stories are mostly invisible. The live-essay Our Legacy brings them to life in a polymedia format, writing German history.
Katharina Warda and her guests discuss reunification, the East, racism, far right extremism and subcultures. The evening contributes to the legacy of the invisible, which even those affected still know much too little about.
We will also broadcast the event in a livestream.
This event is part of ’61–’91–’21: Immer Wieder Deutschland, the accompanying programme for the exhibition Offener Prozess.
