Dr. Patrice G. Poutrus is a historian focusing on recent history and the history of migration. In 2011 he received his Ph.D. from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Currently he researches and teaches at the University of Erfurt and has authored numerous publications on the history of the GDR and migration. In 2019 he published a book titled Umkämpftes Asyl. Vom Nachkriegsdeutschland bis in die Gegenwart (Disputed Asylum: From post-war Germany to the present). He is currently part of the Diktaturerfahrung und Transformation – Partizipative Erinnerungsforschung research project (Dictatorship, Experience, and Transformation: Participatory Memory Research).
