In this joint production by East and West German filmmakers sharply contrasting montages are revealing, contradictions and problematic aspects of state unification. A village school teacher in Thuringia talks to a psychologist who had worked for the State Security about her ideas of life, utopias and motives for her actions in the GDR. The interviewer, Tamara Trampe, does not exclude herself from this unsparing, reflexive manner.
