Activist and journalist Zain Salam Assaad (they/them) was born and raised in Syria and has been in Germany since mid-2016. They did their degree in communication and media studies at the university of leipzig. Zain writes, translates, organizes and protests. In their spare time, Zain grabs Udon noodles with mock duck and complains about the weather in Germany, toxic internet cultures, and the lack of empathy in public debates.
