Costume designer Miriam Marto studied fashion design at the Pforzheim School of Design. After completing her studies, she worked as an assistant designer at BLESS and LUTZ in Paris and as a costume design assistant at the Schaubühne Berlin. She has designed costumes for many directors including Hakan Savaş Mican, Marius von Mayenburg, Yael Ronen, Mikael Serre, Alienor Dauchez, Daniella Strasfogel, the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Moritz Riesewick, Nevin Aladağ, Bruce LaBruce, Magda Korsinsky and Milla Koistinen.
Furthermore, she has worked at a wide range of theatres including the Maxim Gorki Theatre Berlin, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Hannover, Münchner Volkstheater, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Theatre de Vidy Lausanne, Comédie de Reims, Hebbel am Ufer Berlin and Ballhaus Naunynstrasse in Berlin.
She has collaborated closely with director and author Hakan Savaş Mican over many years.
