Silvia Gallerano

Silvia Gallerano is the internationally acclaimed actress of La Merda (that she plays in Italian and in its English and French productions). She won The Stage Award 2012 for Best Solo Performance, The Fringe First Award 2012, the Arches Brick Award 2012, the Premio della Critica 2012 and received a nomination for the Total Theatre Award. She worked in films with Silvio Soldini and Marina Spada. She is one of the founders of Dionisi Theatre Company. Winner of a Special Mention at Premio Scenario for Assola, Silvia Gallerano has worked, among the others, with directors Serena Sinigaglia, Veronica Cruciani and Francesco Micheli. Graduated at Scuola d'Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi in Milan, she studied with Marcel Marceau, Francesca De Sapio , Gabriele Vacis, Yoshi Oida, Giampiero Solari, Claude Coldy, Danio Manfredini, Carlos Martin, Hal Yamanouchi, Julie -Ann Stanzak of Wuppertal Theatre. Precious collaborations with writers John Berger, Cristian Ceresoli, Suad Amiry, Assia Djebar and Mahasweta Devi.
