Saïd Ait El Moumen was born in Marrakech, Morocco. After ten years of musical practice as a percussionist, Saïd chooses to devote his life to contemporary dance following courses led by, among others, Georges Appaix, Hela Fattoumi, Sam Louwick, Bernardo Montet, Mathilde Monnier and Fatou Traoré. In 2002 he co-founded together with Taoufiq Izeddiou and Bouchra Ouizguen the first contemporary dance company in Morocco, Anania. While teaching in the training program Al Mokhtabar activated by the company Anania, he was invited by the National Choreographic Centre of Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon to participate in EX.E.R.CE 2004 training program. During this period he meets different choreographic artists as Marck Tompkins, Steve Paxton, Lisa Nelson, Emmanuelle Huynh, Luis Hayet, Dominique Brun, Odile Duboc. Parallel to his artistic tour in many festivals and international theaters, Saïd collaborates in interdisciplinary projects of artistic exchanges, e.g. Crossborders, a multidisciplinary artistic tour in the Middle East (Lebanon, Palestine) and Intermed, a project of educational research in contemporary dance in collaboration with the Hallet Eghanyan Company. Currently he is the Artistic Director of Corpo Locale.
