Yıldiz Çakar

Yıldiz Çakar, born 1978, is a poet and writer and lives in Berlin. Besides her work as a correspondent and editor for Kurdish newspapers, her poems have been published in two volumes (eng: Graveyard of Stars 2004, and The Door 2012), in which she deals with motifs of death, nothingness and exile experiences. She has also published an encyclopedia, several novels and a collection of short stories and she is a founding member of the Kurdish Writers' Association. She wrote the play Bîra Miriyan (eng: The Well of the Dead) as part of Out of Sight.
