The Armenian genocide, committed 101 years ago, is still denied as part of official Turkish policy. The strategies used at that time to exercise political power, such denial and terror, haven't been acknowledged and have remained in use up to the present day, for example as a tool of Turkish policy with regard to the Kurdish population. But it's not just the resources of the state that have their continuities, but also the possibilities for individuals and groups to intervene against the state.
With this event as part of 100+1 Weiterleben!, the Akebi E. V. is initiating a discussion about the current political context in Turkey and an unrecognized genocide in Turkish history.
