American singer Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell and Dmitri Gaskin’s music unites the musical traditions of two distant diasporas – African-American and Ashkenazi Jews. In this concert performance, Russell develops a personal narrative out of spirituals, Yiddish folk music, early blues songs, Nigunim Hasidiyim and lullabies of both the American South and Eastern Europe.
