The authors of Trotzdem sprechen hold on to the importance of communication, with genuine pain and an unwavering will to reciprocal consideration, however difficult it may be – the most tangible utopia of our time. Because, since 7 October at the latest, since Hamas’ massacre in Israel and the bombing of Gaza that followed, as well as the resulting humanitarian catastrophe, people have found themselves experiencing a new state of isolation or even anxiety. All those who are still ready to talk need each other and, to that end, they need opportunities and spaces.
