T-Boy on Grindr

T-Boy is a teenage trans boy looking for intimate connections with other gay men through the sex-app Grindr. After a short time, T-Boy realizes that his dates don’t see his body as »male«—a view that contradicts his own self-perception. He asks: Is there pure desire that exists beyond gender and sexual identity? T-Boy embarks on his version of a queer hero’s journey, developing different strategies to navigate the subcultural codes of the cis-gay community and finds himself confronted with the harsh reality of the stigmatization that trans bodies experience in a sociopolitical and medical context.
