The 20th century was one of history’s most violent. It revealed, released and unleashed so many sinister forces that one wonders how fascism, racial hatred, bigotry, ethnic cleansing and extreme nationalism can still exist. Schreiben oder Leben (Literature or Life) describes Jorge Semprún’s experiences, including his deportation to the Buchenwald concentration camp, and is interpreted by young people from France and Germany 80 years after the liberation of Buchenwald.
