Performance by and with Kristóf Horváth and Damian James Le Bas
The spoken-word performance explores in the context of the 2nd Roma Biennale the idea of an axiom as a statement or proposition regarded as established, accepted, or self-evidently true. Through scientific rap and mouth-bass poetry, accepted axioms are scrutinised, such as: »There is an essential Roma character« or »No wonder non-Roma look down on us if there are so many bad Roma people«. Yes, »we are here«, but do we have to accept the wisdom we are told? Is there any »Roma axiom« we can accept, or can we blow up the idea of the ROM AXIOM? Another important question: can a fish in the ocean tell a Roma scuba diver apart from a non-Roma scuba diver?
