PLANETA SARAJEVO (THE PLANET SARAJEVO)
The award-winning Bosnian director Šahin Šišić made perhaps the most impressive work of his entire career in 1995 – the short documentary The Planet Sarajevo, which uniquely tells of the horrors of the siege of Sarajevo in the early 1990s. Filmed with a 16mm handheld camera in the style of cinéma vérité, Šišić’s documentary – with an unagitated visual aesthetics, without narration or interviews – shows the everyday struggle of the people of Sarajevo in the catastrophic whirlwind of the Yugoslav Wars.

TRI (THREE)
›Do we still need to keep talking about the war?‹ is the motto of the documentary Three by Goran Dević, who decided to conduct confessional interviews with three men who were actively involved in the conflict in former Yugoslavia. These interviews, recorded during car journeys, bring the terrible conflict back into viewers' perception. Even though all three fought on different sides, they agree on the inhumanity and absurdity of the war, the fact that politicians bear the blame, and that today everybody acts as if nothing happened.
