PARADA
Commenting on Parade, one of Dušan Makavejev’s best-known films, he claimed that he sought to show people as they are. One sees the preparations for International Worker’s Day, even though the director almost completely ignores the titular parade. The film focuses on people – those who work and those who wander the streets, sometimes lost in the crowds, presenting them in a way that is casual and not without humor.

YUGOSLAVIA – HOW IDEOLOGY MOVED OUR COLLECTIVE BODY
The film Yugoslavia: How Ideology Moved Our Collective Body deals with the question of how ideology performs itself in public space through mass perfor - mances. Popivoda collected and analyzed film and video footage from the time of Yugoslavia (1945–2000), focusing on state performances (youth work ac - tions, May Day parades, celebrations of the Youth Day, etc.) as well as count - er-demonstrations (’68, student and civic demonstrations in the 90s, October 5th Revolution, etc.). Going back through the images, the film traces how communist ideology was gradually worn out through the changing relations between the people, ideology, and the state.
