Music journalist and podcaster Miriam Davoudvandi talks with people who usually never talk about books, literature, poetry and prose. From rappers to athletes, anything is possible, writers are the only ones who aren’t allowed.
Last year the pink plastic chairs in Studio Я were occupied by the musicians RAPK, LIZ, BRKN and TikTokers Tahsim Durgun and Maraam Taraaf. Together with her guests, Davoudvandi reads from non-fiction, novels, fairy tales and short stories – the scope ranges from Räuber Hotzenplotz to all about love by bell hooks. On top of that her guests discuss their creative process, which texts inspire them, how their lyrics came to be and how comedy can be written down and still be funny.
They discuss questions like »Which books can you read in the metro and which should be avoided? What books were required reading in school and either inspired us or left lasting damage? How were we socialised with regard to books in general?« Davoudvandi and her guests listen to songs together, flaneur through the world of social media and even treat the audience to a bedtime story at the end of the show.
For the beginning of the new year, Miriam Davoudvandi invites designer and fashion influencer Jana @janaxnell, who inspires her followers on social media with snippets from her life and the latest fashion trends.
Before the next show, you can catch up on all the previous episodes as podcasts in the series Let’s talk about text, baby on all popular streaming plattforms.
