»I won't cut this throat either!« This phrase shows up in the poem Müller im Hessischen Hof and asks for the (lack of) power of writing in the presence of crisis, three years before the poet’s death. Heiner Müller would have turned 88 on January, 9th 2017, if death hadn’t sent him to the last of all confl icts in 1995. What’s left of this poet are not only his texts, but an enormous and crisis proven energy, which the GORKI Ensemble wants to highlight at his birthday with Der Auftrag on stage, followed by the celebration in word/image/sound in the canteen.
