On 19 February 2020, a racist murdered nine people in Hanau. Said Etris Hashemi has been doubly impacted by the attack: his brother Said Nesar died at the scene, while he himself barely survived, suffering serious injuries. Together with other relatives as part of the »Initiative 19. Februar Hanau«, he has fought for remembrance, justice and a comprehensive investigation ever since. In his book he describes how this horrific turning point changed his life, and which political and social ramifications are still pending.
