Dr. Zülfukar Çetin is a lecturer at the Alice-Salomon-University, Berlin, in the field of social work, and he also works at the University of Basel in a research project on HIV / AIDS activism and politics in Turkey. 2014/2015 he worked on his postdoctoral project The Dynamics of the Queer Movement in Turkey before and during the conservative AKP government as a Mercator IPC Fellow at the Science and Politics Foundation. Together with Savaş Taş, he published the anthology Talks On Racism - Perspectives and Resistances in 2015, and in 2016, together with Heinz-Jürgen Voß, he published the book Gay Visibility, Gay Identity – Critical Perspectives. His work focuses on intersectionality, migration research and politics, anti-discrimination policies and work, racism and antimuslim racism, (post-)colonialism, queer theory and politics, heteronormativity, homonationalism, biographical research and qualitative social research.
