Tigran Petrosyan

Tigran Petrosyan is a journalist with two doctorates. Born in Armenia, he lives and works in Berlin. He studied Oriental Studies, Turkish Studies and History and Cultural Studies in Yerevan, Mainz and Berlin and completed his doctorate in Berlin on integration, migration and media perception. As a reporter, he travels throughout Eastern Europe, reporting from Armenia, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the Baltic states, among others. His journalistic focus includes human rights, wars and conflicts in the post-Soviet region as well as the function of art as an expression of protest in this region. The Armenian genocide is an important part of his reporting. He writes mainly for taz. die Tageszeitung, der Freitag, the Swiss weekly WOZ and the journal of Amnesty International.

Petrosyan is an advisor to the Maxim Gorki Theater's board of trustees for the festival 100 + 10 –  Armenian Allegories. The festival is the prologue of the 7. Berliner Herbstsalon RE-IMAGINE! Petrosyan is also the festival's press spokesman.
