Simone Kucher

Simone Kucher writes plays, radio plays and prose. Her plays have been staged in Vienna, Basel, Zurich, Mannheim, Berlin and Bochum. She has been invited to festivals such as the Münchner Kammerspiele, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theaterbiennale Wiesbaden and Theater St. Gallen. She was invited to the Stückemarkt of the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2016 with the play Eine Version der Geschichte and to the Autorentheatertage at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in 2018. It premiered at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. The play has been translated into English, French and Czech. She writes radio plays for WDR, and her radio play Der Stimme ihren Ort zurück (2015, WDR3) was the first time she dealt with Armenian history. Her novel Die lichten Sommer was published by Kjona, Munich, in 2024 and will be staged at Theater Aalen in 2025.
