Philipp Ruch, born in 1981 in Dresden, is a philosopher, performance artist, and founder of the Center for Political Beauty. As a moral hardliner and radical humanist, he is part of a generation of directors redefining theater as an artistic form. Ruch studied the history of political ideas and holds a PhD in ancient violence history. He is known for his provocative actions dedicated to radical humanism. His works have been showcased at the Gorki Theater, Münchner Kammerspiele, and the Berlin Biennale, among others. In 2024, his new book Es ist 5 vor 1933 will be published.
