Natalie Plöger studied classical bass, musical instrument pedagogy and music education at the Hochschule Detmold. During her studies she garnered practical experience in various big bands and pop-jazz groups. Today she is active in various musical genres: In addition to engagements in orchestras, chamber groups and theatres (Orchestra Mozart, Kammerorchester Detmold, Ensemble Vinorosso, Berlin Music Ensemble, Volksbühne, among other), she’s a core member of both the ELAIZA pop group, which participated in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest representing Germany and received a golden record for their single Is it right, and GANES, a band from southern Tyrol whose songs are in Ladin and who’ve toured around Europe for many years.
Plöger’s work with music for children is particularly important to her, encompassing her work with Hangarmusik, an orchestra project for refugee children on Tempelhofer Feld, and her work in teaching music students over many years.
