Mürtüz Yolcu

Born in 1961 in Iğdır, Mürtüz Yolcu is an actor, curator and screenwriter and has lived in Berlin since 1978. From 1995 to 2010, he organised the International DiyalogTheatreFest Berlin, working with numerous artists from Turkey as part of it. Yolcu was one of the first Turkish artists who immigrated to Berlin and worked as an actor and dramaturg on bilingual productions. From 1979 to 1984 he was a member of the Turkish-language ensemble Berliner Darsteller. He then performed at the Tiyatrom Theatre Berlin, Berliner Familientheater, Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Berliner Ensemble and Münchner Kammerspiele, among others. Yolcu is also a producer for film and television.
