Mazlum Nergiz was born in 1991 in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He studied cultural anthropology as well as literature and religious studies at the Freie Universität Berlin and was a Heinrich Böll Foundation scholarship recipient.
As a dramaturg at the Maxim Gorki Theatre, he collaborates on plays and devised projects with directors like Lola Arias, Mikaël Serre, Falk Richter (VERRÄTER), Christian Weise and Suna Gürler.
In particular, his work has focused on projects with non-professional performers, as well as contemporary drama, most recently with QUEERIOUS — DIE GEBURT DES VULKANS (QUEERIOUS - THE BIRTH OF THE VOLCANO). STÖREN (Disturb), a project directed by Suna Gürler, was invited to the 2017 Radikal jung festival for young directors in Munich and to the Theatertreffen der Jugend youth theatre festival in Berlin the same year.
Beginning in 2018 he's also producing a podcast for the NON WORLDWIDE collective titled The Sound of Resilience with filmmaker and musician Leyla Yenirce.
