Mazen Aljubbeh was born in Saudi Arabia in 1989 and grew up in Syria. He began acting when he was 18 and then completed his degree at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. At the Damascus Theater Laboratory he appeared in plays by Georg Büchner, Tennessee Williams and Anton Chekhov. He also worked in television in Syria, Lebanon and Turkey. He appeared in Ayham Majid Agha’s play SKELETT EINES ELEFANTEN IN DER WÜSTE, which opened the 2017/2018 season in Studio Я. He is also a part of the #ACTOUT Manifesto.
Mazen Aljubbeh has been a member of the Gorki ensemble since the 2016/2017 season, where he works with the directors Sebastian Nübling, Yael Ronen, Sebastian Baumgarten and Christian Weise, among others. His productions include THE SITUATION directed by Yael Ronen, which was invited to the 2016 Theatertreffen festival and chosen by Theater heute as 2016’s play of the year.
