Berlin-native Maria Viktoria Linke works as a director, dramaturg and curator. Following her degree in theatre studies, arts and culture studies, and journalism in Leipzig, she worked as a dramaturg at the Neues Theater Halle (Saale). She became artistic director of Stadt Deiner Liebe, the theatre’s international youth theatre and performance festival, planned and managed the riff club venue, and curated the programme accompanying the Theater der Welt festival in the Neue Residenz.
When she went to work at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, she continued to pursue her interest in interdisciplinary productions and developed, in close collaboration with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, multidisciplinary productions and art happenings. In 2011 Maria Viktoria Linke went to the Landestheater Tübingen, where she worked as head dramaturg and director until 2014 and taught at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. From 2014–2017 Linke was director of drama and head dramaturg at the Staatstheater Augsburg. The Deutsche Bühne journal praised the Schauspiel Augsburg at the time for its »unusually strong work beyond the larger theatre hubs«.
Since 2018 Linke’s focus has been on her work as a director. She has directed productions at the state theatres in Darmstadt, Meiningen and Karlsruhe, among other venues.
