Lea Søvsø Born in Denmark in 1982, lives and works as a costume designer and performance artist in Berlin. She studied costume design at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) with Professor Florence von Gerkan and was a guest student in fine arts with Professor Hito Steyerl, UdK. She began working as a freelance costume designer for theatre and film in 2007. Her collaborators have included the performance group »She She Pop«, Hito Steyerl, René Pollesch, the »Lworowski-Kronfoth music theatre collective«, Nis Momme Stockmann, Grzegorz Muskala and Julia Langhof. As a performance artist, she has appeared in group and individual exhibitions at the Senate Reservespeicher Berlin, the Neues Berliner Kunstverein, Kunst-Werke (Berlin), Kino Arsenal (Berlin), Det andet rum (Copenhagen) and Beton salon (Paris). Since 2008 she has worked as a vocal performer in collaboration with singer and vocal anthropologist Ulrike Sowodniok.
