Katharina Oguntoye is a historian and artist. She has helped to shape the Afro-German movement, among other things as one of the editors of the non-fiction book Showing Our Colors – Afro-German Women Speak Out (1986) and as a founding member of the Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland Bund e.V. (Initiative of Black People in Germany). Since 1996 she has been the director of Joliba e.V., the Intercultural Network in Berlin that she co-founded.
