Karosh Taha, born and raised in Zaxo (Kurdistan), made her debut in 2018 with the novel Beschreibung einer Krabbenwanderung published by DuMont. The radio play version of her novel was broadcast on WDR3 and COSMO in 2021. Her second novel Im Bauch der Königin was published in 2020. She has received several prizes and scholarships for her work, including the Alfred Döblin Medal, work scholarships from the German Literature Fund, the Rolf Dieter Brinkmann Prize from the City of Cologne and residency scholarships in Los Angeles, Prague, Paris and Marseille, among others. She lives and writes in Cologne.
