Born in 1983 in Berlin-Kreuzberg and since 2008 author and columnist for magazines and newspapers such as TAZ, Die Zeit, VICE, Das Wetter and many more, Juri Sternburg won the Stückemarkt of the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2011 with his theater debut der penner ist jetzt schon wieder woanders. Since then, he has written various plays, radio plays (Türsteher and 60qm Hass) and non-fiction/biographies – including the two SPIEGEL bestsellers Germania and King of Rap. His works for the theater have been performed at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, the Volkstheater Rostock and the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, among others, followed by guest performances in Boston, Copenhagen and Prague. Since 2020, he has mainly worked as a screenwriter and has developed ASBEST, the most successful series in the ARD media library to date. The series Die Zweiflers, written by Sternburg (together with David Hadda and Sarah Hadda), celebrated its world premiere in Cannes in April 2024 and was awarded several prizes there, including Best Series. Juri Sternburg lives and works in Berlin.
