Julia Lwowski, born in Odessa. Studied Direction for Music Theatre at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. She worked among others at opera houses in Dortmund, the Opéra-Théâtre Metz, the Schwetzinger Festspiele, the Ruhrtriennale, as well as the Salzburg Festival. As a laboratory for exploring a contemporary, cross-genre music theater, she founded the music theater collective HAUEN • UND • STECHEN in 2012. Various works as a director at Ballhaus Ost (I Believe in Jim Jones / Once In A Lullaby), at the Neuköllner Oper (Macbeth, Elektra, Die Fledermaus) and the Hamburg State Opera (Orpheus). In preparation is a multi-part opera production of Rimsky-Korsakov's Snegurochka at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, which will be shown in the 2017/2018 season.
