Janka Panskus

Janka Panskus has been a theater pedagogue at the Maxim Gorki Theater since January 2002. After studying theater in Berlin, Tübingen, Philadelphia and Munich, she held several directing positions at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich, directed the independent theater group »Tollhaus« in Munich from 1993 to 1997 and worked for several years at the Theaterpädagogischer Dienst in Berlin. Until 2013/2014, she additionally worked for several years as a translator and editor in the field of youth literature, as a German-as-a-Foreign-Language lecturer at various universities and institutions, and from 2010 to 2014 as a lecturer at the theater pedagogical continuing education courses at the Otto-Suhr-Volkshochschule Berlin Neukölln in cooperation with the Kulturnetzwerk Neukölln. Since Shermin Langhoff's directorship, she has concentrated fully on her work at GORKI X, where she is primarily responsible for mediation.
