Hugo Sequeira Santos, b. Lisbon, 1995, is a Queer artist who makes work around with an interdisciplinary practice around performance, modelling, styling/creative direction, painting and installation. Hugo came out as non-binary in 2019, using pronouns they/them. Their work explores gender, identity, trauma, memory and movement through different mediums, to find an experimental biographical expression with elements of abstraction. After graduating from the Performing Arts course at Escola Professional de Teatro de Cascais, Portugal in 2015, Hugo joined mobile strategies, a London-based house/studio/gallery with a holistic creative practice merging the fields of art photography, photobook publishing and mindfulness, founded by contemporary artist paula roush. In 2019 Hugo joined Constantine Tsapaliras Editor in Chief of CARPARK Magazine as Fashion Editor and in 2021 they joined Doesn’t Exist Magazine as Junior Creative Director and assistant to Editor in Chief Alex Babboni.
