Gitti Scherer, born in Bad Aibling in 1972, studied set and costume design at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden. She has been based in Berlin and Stuttgart since 2001 and works as a scenographer and exhibition designer for theatres, museums and other cultural institutions.
They include: Theater Aachen, Berliner Festspiele, Martin Gropius Bau Berlin, Humboldt Forum Berlin, Goethetheater Bremen, Kunsthalle Bremen, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Historisches Museum Frankfurt, Theater am Gärtnerplatz München, Stiftung Preussische Schlösser und Gärten Potsdam, Margarete-Steiff-Museum, Pierre-Boulez-Saal and Burgtheater Wien.
She worked on the following productions directed by Nurkan Erpulat: Faked at HAU, Türkisch Gold at Theater Heilbronn, Clash at Junges DT Berlin, Tigermilch at Junges Ensemble Stuttgart, the world premiere of the adaptation of the novel Hawaii by Cihan Acar at Theater Heilbronn and Café Populaire Royal at the Gorki in season 2024/25.
